DESCRIPTION
Tasmanian Bluegum is one of the Tasmania’s most durable timber, which combined with its strength makes it a good structural timber. Its notable hardness and density makes it ideal for flooring, fittings and surfaces expected to take considerable wear.
COLOUR RANGE
Tasmanian Blue Gum is a pale straw to brown colour often with a blue to green grey tone. Sapwood is paler than the heart wood but not always distinguishable. The wood has an open texture with distinctive growth rings. The growth rings prominent on the end section. Grains are often interlocked but straight grains do exist too.
IDEAL USE
Blue Gum is strong and very durable and has been used for a variety of uses including railway sleepers, piles, floorboards and also paper products. A very good structural timber.
